Operation Goodwood: A Corridor of Death, July, 1944

Goodwood is a meticulous examination of the "Kursk in Normandy, 1944", which involved over 900 tanks in an area of battle of a only a few miles. It was the Allies attempt to bust through Rommel's defenses and ended in a bloody and vicious battle. The Germans had hidden over 70 88mm guns, all could easily rip apart any allied tank and they did just that. The vaunted SS panzer divisions proved critical despite overwhelming allied bomber attacks that seemed to do little. The book contains first-hand accounts and much detail on the units involved down to the number of tanks and guns of a division.
