An Inconvenient Time

Leslie Bennett is a petite anthropology instructor, who becomes bewitched by a heartless accountant with the looks of a fairytale prince, and finds herself living in his Seattle condo although her heart and job are in the mountains east of the city. Despite an arsenal of world knowledge gleaned from folklore, history, and literature, Leslie misses the signs that Richard is leaving her until he tells her the last week of her summer break. With little time to spare, and the assistance of her loyal friends, quirky new neighbors, and mismatched parents, Leslie sets out to build a new life for herself in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. Along the way, she prevails against scheming faculty members; uncovers the mystery of a fictitious neighbor; and welcomes her best friend's unmarried brother-in-law, a Maine Coon kitten, and a Welsh Corgi into her life.
