Pieces of The Sky

Pieces of the Sky is a story of Catherine, a teenager who’s life changes when her mother dies leaving her alone. Catherine, a child conceived during an illicit affair, is sent to live with her father James. A man till then has been significantly absent from her life. The journey of Catherine’s teenage years is explored and the harsh realities of life both confront and disappoint.

Catherine has to contend with a father who is ashamed of his infidelity which is a constant reminder of this betrayal to his wife Lydia. James “hides” Catherine in a cabin away to keep Lydia happy.

During the time in the cabin Catherine finds love with Jake. Jake is a solid character who stands by Catherine and loves her and supports her during the challenges that life throws her.

Sara Daniels does an amazing job of delving into the depths of the teenage angst and the resilient of a soul against life’s challenges. This story to me, is one of hope and strength of character and how love shared can withstand and overcome adversity.
