One of Lappland's Daughter

This is historical fiction. I knew so much about my great great grandmother, Maria Bucht-Lampinen, that it was easy to write about her growing up, her husband and their family, her life in America, coming here as an elderly woman. I used my imagination to feel how it would have been to be her, and it was a delightful journey, fraught with unusual joy and heartache.
Maria was from Marjosaari Village, which is in the northern, Finnish-speaking part of Sweden. Her family origins are from all over that area, Swedish Norrbotten and Lappland and Finnish Lapland.
