The country of Solaterra has been seduced by a reign of kings who will do anything to keep power; but they fear the words of an ancient prophecy. It foretells the birth of a baby boy that will restore the power and truth of the ancestors, and bring back the reign of the High Judges, and liberty. The boy is born, and intrigues and miracles surround him as he becomes the person so many have waited for. He is Pitama. A conflict grows between the king and those that follow Pitama, culminationg in civil war...and a dramatic climax.
This is a scifi/fantasy with a twist. If you like adventure, it is a great read at face value; but more than that, it speaks to anyone who values libery, and is an allegory of the events that each of us must deal with in our personal fight for freedom, faith and hope. One reader gave the following endorsement:
"I strongly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys fiction, even science fiction, and appreciates intelligent writing, too. This book is not written at the typical 3rd to 7th grade reading level, which is precisely why I like it. Seldom do I read books that combine entertainment, intelligence and insight so well. It is also interesting from a cultural and a religious perspective. If you're looking for mind numbing entertainment, look elsewhere. If you want to take a fascinating journey into a different culture that will find you reflecting upon your own, read on. Oh, and best of all, no vampires, werewolves, or zombies."
