Something's terribly wrong with her. Maybe she has a brain tumor. What other possible explanation is there? Unless... But that's crazy talk. No one in his or her right mind would believe it possible. But still...
Deedra knows her nightmares are more than a frightening dream accompanied by a sensation of terror. Deedra also knows, if anyone finds out she's dreaming about corpses, she'll end up in the nut-house down the street. Isolated and alone, Deedra desperately tries to understand what's happening to her.
Like a ship sinking, Deedra feels her sanity sinking into a dark abyss. The nightmares consuming her are but glimpses into the mind of a killer. A killer with an insatiable lust for blood. Forced to confront her nightmares, Deedra struggles to find the proof she needs to lock this monster up before he strikes again.
Facing a seemingly impossible task, Deedra sets out to find the proof and along the way gets more than she bargained for: a mysterious phantom dog who puts Deedra's life in grave danger, a desecrated corpse and a face-to-face encounter with the killer.
Of course, even with all the proof in the world, it will be a daunting task convincing the authorities to dig up the fields of a renowned vineyard, and Deedra's only proof is buried there.
While racing against the ticking clock to stop a killer, Deedra realizes there is even more at stake than putting one killer behind bars, another more sinister killer is out there, hunting her and the only man she can trust: The only man who can help her.
Four days before another child dies. Four days to stop a killer. That's all the time Deedra has...four days.
It is said that when the silky shrouds of night enfold the wakeful soul, the evil in man reveals its tortured mask. It is also said, there are those amongst us who walk unobserved between the shadows and the light: those that see into the soul and can find the evil which dwells there. They are know as the keeper of dreams, and they have been with us since the beginning:
Watching...Waiting...Learning.
Dream Keeper -- Fatum Meum, the first in a planned series of dark tales, is a story of intrigue and suspense with a healthy dose of retribution for those who were taken too soon. Woven with wit, sarcasm, and humor, Dream Keeper is unique in conception by capitalizing on the mysteries surrounding nightmares -- where they come from and how they are controlled -- making it a distinctive addition to the horror genera.
