She heard the loud report of a gunshot and almost let go of the reins as she started to top the small rise that she was headed for. She reached down and held on to the pommel of the saddle when the horse topped the rise. The horse went at a full gallop for a short distance and stumbled. She felt herself flying through the air and thought only to cover her face and duck into an almost fetal position out of fear. She closed her eyes and she felt the ground hit her on the shoulders and the middle of her back and she found herself looking directly up at the sky. She manages to escape and stumbles into a lone rider's camp in the desert and he finds himself in a fight for his life with outlaw bikers who are intent on taking her against her will.
