Owning and running a magazine, raising a five year old and signing the last of her divorce papers is just another day in the life of Charlie Meyers. But as hard as life can be sometimes be, Charlie always has her mother, Jodi, to count on. She is the one person who provides her with the humor, the love and sometimes the reality check that she needs. Both women own and operate a magazine, which is easier said then done most days. Having to fire one of their head writers is one of those days. Luckily they come across Gwen Dawson, a talented writer eagerly needing a fresh start, and offer her a position at their magazine. Gwen agrees to join them and finds something along the way of her new start. Charlie.
This story captures the different relationships that women experience from their mothers and children, to lovers, current and past, and friends. It also captures the balancing of each of those relationship along with everything else that life throws at them. This tells a story of two women not looking for anything but finding everything. It about going through the tears, laughter, deadlines, custody hearings and ex-husbands, and realizing that any obstacle is worth overcoming when true love is waiting on the other side.
