What happens when a woman prays for years for fulfillment of her heart's desire, only to watch her prayers go unanswered? Perhaps she has prayed for marital happiness, the salvation of a loved one, an errant child , or an abusive husband. Perhaps she has prayed to be relieved of the pain she has suffered because of the death of a spouse or child, or to be acknowledged and accepted. Unanswered prayers inevitably lead to an emotional roller coaster ride through hope and disappointment, ending in despair.
