War looms on the horizon as the Jinns, Curseworks, and Wishworks prepare for battle. In Jinn territory, Abdul Cadabra has been resurrected and his Lamp of One Thousand Nightmares grows stronger every day. At Curseworks, Penelope and Preztoe, the half-Jinn are desperately planning an escape from the deepest dungeons. At Wishworks, after successfully finding three of the famed Wishworks weapons, Benand his friends are on a treacherous journey to retrieve the fourth and final weapon from deep within Jinn territory. Knowing that they cannot be caught, Candlewick enlists the help of an elite force known as the Thaumaturgic Cartographers.
