Gods of Good Fortune: A Short Story

Earl Hibiscuss has lost his employment. His wife and three teenage children are thoroughly disgusted with him. This leads to a severe family crisis not only in terms of financial scurity but also with respect to family stability. The Gods of Good Fortune often come to the aid of those who find themselves in financial, emotional, and other difficulties that are not of their making. The Gods decide to help Earl with his financial problems but in return he must agree to become a crime fighter since the Gods of Good Fortun hate crime. By agreeing, he becomes Captain Fortune, crime fighter extraodinaire, a superhero somewhat in the mold of Superman.
