One Day Of My Life

One Day of My Life says it all. This short story was one day in my life until 2005 when I began to change it all. It is told exactly as it happened, in the precise words. This is a graphic essay encompassing everything from child abuse, to spousal abuse, to cross-dressing, to the reasons why I stayed-why any woman stays. This is one in a series of 50 essays of growing up in a home of sibling abuse which lead me to poor marriages and the reasons why today, at 48 I am still struggling. It takes you through my growth from the day I filed for a divorce, and ends with my dream of having my own art show. I have moved on, but my past will forever be a seeping wound which at times weeps and other times lies covered by the rising tide of my finding my identity
and living the life I was meant to. It is a moving, tearful, gut wrenching and sometimes funny look into what was my life time of learning Cornered Silence. Had it not been for my mothers never ending love until she died in 1987 and my faith in God I would not be here today. I guarantee you I would be dead.
