Alice's Second Trip to Wonderland

This book has no relation to the movie of that title. On the basis of what could be expected, it has Lewis Carroll's Alice, at age 19 a skeptic, taking a trip into a phantasmagoric world that resembles a race track. There she meets a jive talking brown rabbit journalist, a descendant of Humpty Dumpty, a cockney Dodo bird, talking flowers, a ribald parrot, a Joker who gets himself imprisoned for unrepentant punning, and other fascinating characters. Amid the satire on society, the author provides lots of humor and nonsense in the mode of Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. Brilliantly illustrated.
