This NOOK edition contains the Authorized King James Version of the Holy Bible, both the Old and New Testaments. It has been optimized for the NOOK, is easy to navigate, and is fully searchable by book and chapter.
While we include links in the text to help with navigation, these can sometimes be slow while the book loads in the NOOK's memory. We've found that the fastest way to get to a book is to use the Page Find function. Select Go to, then Page, then slide your finger until you see the name of the book you want (the names of the books will appear just above the slider once you start sliding). This can get you close enough so that paging backward or forward to the desired chapter and verse is pretty quick. However, we provide alternate ways to get to the desired book, chapter, and verse below.
To navigate to a certain book:
1. Press Go to on your NOOK’s touchscreen.
2. Press Chapter.
3. Press the name of the book you want.
4. Use the up or down arrows to highlight a selection, then press the Select button.
For example, to navigate to Matthew, Chapter 7, you would press Go to, then Chapter, then Matthew. Then select Mt 1-10 and page forward to Chapter 7.
To search for a book and chapter:
1. Press Find on your NOOK’s touchscreen.
2. Using the keyboard, enter the book (using the abbreviations below) and chapter number, and press Search.
3. Page forward to the desired verse.
For example, to find Matthew 7:7, you would press Find, enter mt 7, and page forward to verse 7.
NOTE: Searching seems to work best if you first go to the beginning of the Bible.
