How does one begin to condense the heart and soul of any book, let alone a book of poetry, in a back page synopsis, or “teaser” if you will? The very nature of poetry is compression, or at least a scrutiny of words. In that vein, I have tried to summarize my book of summarizations.
Gypsy Moths on Flight to Light is this one man’s conceptualization of mankind’s plight and joy. In spite of our many attempts to hide our true selves, we are indeed, “transparent…inherent…exiles.” Each one of us is a “gypsy moth on flight to light” whether our flights be fanciful or fearful.
Most poetry has a tendency to be somewhat inspirational; I suppose it is the nature of the craft. This book has been made possible by the very source of inspiration. It is my hope and prayer that it will, in turn, become an inspiration to those who read it.
