This thinly fictionalized story of the Miami Indians, long a favorite with 4th grade teachers and students alike, traces the history, mythology, heroes, major military foes, battles, crafts like tanning of deerskins, foods,and the struggle to face white intrusions into the hunting grounds. Various characters tell their own stories nad through them the story of the Miami emerges.
