The 1957 Sachs Arctic Expediion

Witrh no GI Bill income until September, I left Stockholm with a tent, sleeping bag, nesting pots and a pan, my Boy Scout back pack, and a tiny Loma gasoline stove. With very little money for the summer, I couldn't afford hotels, drestaurants, or even youth hostels, so traveled for $2 a day hitchhiking north through Nortway to North Cape, rfthe northernomst land in Europe. It was a great adventure.
