"Parts North" is the answer to a question. If you're from certain parts of Maine and a stranger asks where you're from or where you're going, "Parts North" might be the answer you share when you're on the run. For Quinton Deane, after a misspent life of crime in rural Maine, there's not that many places left to run. Out of prison, he tends claimers down at the track, but the harness racing circuit is a dead end for Quinton. Scabs at the paper mill are more in demand than horse trainers, and, just his luck, it means going back to his old hometown.
