Dark Within

Dark Within is based on true events in a rural village in Pakistan. The short story uses the now famous Mukhtaran Bibi honor revenge case as the backdrop. But instead of focusing on the victim, Dark Within tackles the effect such an event would have had on a child in the village, through the fictional eyes of Naira, an 11-year old girl. The story scrapes the surface of the effects of honor revenge cases sanctioned by an antiquated tribal regime functioning in today's modern world.
