The Oil Spill

Is a devastating oil spill the deathknell for an oil giant? One would think so, especially when combined with all the sins previously committed by Texas based Premier Petroleum, American's largest energy company. A few weeks later, Premier's fate is all but confirmed with the discovery of CEO Percy Morrow's body near his Manhattan condo. No doubt a suicide, the only way he can escape the waves of venom directed at him over the spill. The only disbeliever is spokesman Chuck Howe, one of the few within Premier who still believes in the company. In his fight to save both Premier and Morrow’s ruined name, Howe tries to keep the suicide private. But other issues complicate his task. He’s still grieving from the recent death of his wife. Disturbing leaks to the press continue to occur. And a powerful board director abruptly announces his retirement, short-circuiting the expected succession plans. All that pales, however, when Camilla Bentz, a fierce enemy of Premier, arrives out of nowhere as the new CEO.
