Before Adam by Jack London

BEFORE ADAM is the story of a boy who dreams he is an early pre-human hominid. The boy is one of the Cave People, a middling group of primitives struggling for survival. In addition to the Cave People, there are the more advanced Fire People, and the more animal-like Tree People, all of whom are rivals for nearby resources.
