Emily's Christmas Tree

This story reflects only a small memory of true happiness in her childhood. Even though she was not living with her mother, she knew she was loved. Her life with her grandmother was simple, not a lot of material things, just the basic necessities required to survive. At such a young age and the fact that they live so far away from town, her only socialization was through school. Linda was dependent on her grandmother to give her all the things she needed. In return, her grandmother relied on Linda to adapt to the living conditions and become this independent soul who would overcome the day to day obstacles of growing up.
