Murder is a Capitol Offense

In this second book in the series, the girls are in Jefferson City for the annual witch's state convention where they meet Stephanie Miller, chauffeur and ward of Malena, the high priestess of the Missouri covens. Arriving at Malena's house, they find her and the butler murdered. The cops think Stephanie did it, but the girls know better. They take Stephanie in and discover that she has some very unique powers that even she is unaware of.

During the investigation, they follow a sinister occult book store owner, find a secret tunnel under the city, and also get run down while boating on the Missouri River. They finally discover the reason for Malena's murder, and why Stephanie is next on the list, and are shocked when the killer reveals himself.

We find out more about the girl's abilities in this story and also we learn more about the nature of their witchcraft.
