Secret/Sacrifice

SECRET/SACRIFICE tells the story of people whose lives are altered by deeds of the past and then put back in order through suffering and virtuous acts. The characters are caught up in events they cannot control,and they face moments of decision which test their personal values of morality and courage. Those who manage to do the right thing are innately good,but those who fail leave no doubt that they are NOT nice people. This novel tells a story about the conflicts within families and the soul-searching that goes on within individuals, and it even suggests that the blunders and the attitudes of those who have the most cause suffering and hardships for those who can least afford to pay. The idea of getting second chances is a theme that repeats itself throughout the novel, and the conviction that God is in control is evident in the end. Through thirty years filled with love, hate, war, politics, coverups, secrets, and sacrifices the characters live life at its worst and at its best.
