Turner Brown, a former US Deputy Marshal and bloodstained Civil War Union Calvary Captain, was just looking for a hot bath, a warm bed and a home-cooked meal when he rode into Santa Fe, New Mexico in the early summer of 1868. What he found was a deadly bank robbery by unrepentant Rebels. Three innocent by-standers were murdered, awakening Brown’s own memories of his Wartime role in the death of innocents.
Brown again pins on a lawman’s star and begins the pursuit.
A desperate and deadly journey unfolds as Brown faces down the gang of desperadoes, turning New Mexico’s famed Taos Trail into the “Trail of Death”.
Along the way Ahiga, a proud and unbowed Navajo warrior, who has escaped the Army’s desolate internment camp in Bosque Redondo and is being pursued by four Comanche man-hunters sent to find him, joins Brown in his pursuit.
Together, Brown and Ahiga ensure that justice is served in a lawless land.
