10 short poem stories which serve as cautionary tales for children. Do your children spend too much time with screens? Well perhaps this sample story will intrigue you. You only have to spend $1 to get the rest. They tend to be a little dark, but if this is something up your alley, enjoy reading.
Sample Story:
Jack and his screens
Jack loves all screens in twos and threes.
Jack plays video games and watches shows about trees.
Jack has screens throughout his entire home,
He loves to watch them with others or alone.
Jack doesn’t do much besides sit at his screens.
Jack would never even consider reading magazines.
He plays a computer game with his friend.
Jack doesn’t think his fun should ever end.
He doesn’t do anything but look at screens you see.
While this can be fun, for you or me,
Jack does nothing else, sometimes not even pee.
He sits at his screens and he stares at them hard.
He never picks up a book, or rakes the yard.
The mind has to develop in young children we know,
So what becomes of Jack, with his screens all aglow?
Well Jack still has screens, as surely as toes.
The screens are more important to him I suppose.
His brain has not done so well, unfortunately,
For anything other than screens he can’t see.
Jack’s eyes just burned out, one faithful day,
Why he can still see a screen we can’t say.
But that is Jack’s fate, to be stuck with the screen,
Forever and ever, in a state like a dream.
Should your parents ask you to go out today,
Perhaps you should consider, just a short play.
In the yard you could go, get away from the screen.
For just a short while, so you can still find ice cream.
