Expendable

Expendable tells of the formation and exploitation of a U.S. Marine Corps experimental unmanned aerial vehicle platoon, by a highly placed, unidentified U.S. intelligence operative. The intelligence officer, known only as Colonel Hart, sets events in motion that allows Captain “Quarry” Samuels to draw upon post Desert Storm loyalties. With a U.A.V. platoon now manned by former Scout/Snipers, the platoon is sent to Villavicencio, Colombia under the auspice of providing support to a U.S. Marine Corps Force Reconnaissance Platoon conducting counternarcotics operations. Only Hart knows the real mission is to eliminate a security leak with the Department of Defense.
While in South America, Quarry meets and gains assistance from Beth, a beautiful C.I.A. agent whose current assignment in international arms trafficking brings her in contact with the platoon. A former U.S. Green Beret sergeant turned cartel security mercenary becomes their nemesis as does a gunman known only to the locals as “Phantom.”
After the Expendable Drone Platoon supports the reconnaissance Marines in a life and death struggle, Quarry identifies the security leak. Acting outside his orders and authority, he takes matter in his own hands, something Hart knew he would do all along.
