The Master and Marmeladov

The amazing Woland comes to a small college in Hogtown, USA, where the faculty must compete for a pay raise. Yuri Marmeladov, an eccentric old Russian émigré, claims that he has made an important discovery in the works of Dostoevsky. His presence in the small American college triggers a chain of cataclysmic events. Gabriel Choreb’s The Master and Marmeladov resurrects the satirical spirit of Mikhail Bulgakov and the surreal worlds of Gogol and Dostoevsky. The tale opens with this epigraph: “The events portrayed in this book really happened. The colleagues and associates of Professor Marmeladov are portrayed precisely as I remember them. No names have been altered. O brave new world, that has such scholards in it!”
