After a grueling schedule of completing medical school, Grant Hayes returns home to inform his parents, Alexander and Kate Hayes, of his pending engagement to Tina Hamilton, a Boston socialite. However, an encounter on the train with a childhood friend, Danielle Johnson, makes an unexpected impact on his life. Also, the influence of being home draws the wayward Grant back to God.
