Brer Rabbit and the Bobbycue

This is one of the author's shorter stories, but the accompanying illustrations make it well worth the $1 it sells for. In it, the farmer's hounds are hot on the trail of our old friend, Brer Rabbit, but, as usual, the crafty rabbit manages to escape by sending all his friends to a make-believe barbecue and getting the hounds off his trail at the same time.

The story is written using heavy dialect so children may need an adult to help them understand.
