On September 10th, 2001, a restless young woman moves into her very first apartment in New York City, two blocks south from the imposing World Trade Center. The next morning, her world, along with that of thousands of others, would fall apart.

Apocalepsy 911 is a five-voice novelization of her experience of September 11th and the aftermath. It paints, through the different angles of her psyche, an unusual, visceral portrait of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and the numbing depression that often follows. What is created throughout, is a kaleidoscopic vision of the sometimes erratic correspondence between inner and outer turmoil. The boundaries soon disappear between the past, present and future as memories of 9/11, visions and flashbacks fail to escape from trauma’s pervasive shadow. The tone is wry, dark and rich, each voice bringing its own sensibility to the narrative; from the child-like poetry of hurt to the near-psychedelic delusions of terror and the often caustic snickers of dismissal.

With its interactive transmedia app, Apocalepsy 911 explores the possibilities of a new medium, at the crossroads of literature, cinema, music, technology, visual arts, and social networks. Learn more at www.apocalepsy911.com

This book and entire endeavor is dedicated to the victims of 9/11, their families, friends and loved ones and to those everywhere who sometimes doubt there can ever be an end to their suffering. May there always be a light in their darkness.
