“I Wear the Mask”, was implemented in group sessions to encourage and assist women who have been abused to discuss their traumatic events. The poem was recited at the first annual walk-a-thon for the Montgomery County Women Against Abuse Center. She also joined the board to see the walk-a-thon come into fruition.
This inspirational greeting card has stretched out at other domestic violence agencies on the East Coast and is now being looked at to spread at even a larger scale with several other agencies.
October is national domestic violence abuse month. Kimberly has made a point to donate “I Wear The Mask” greeting cards to several domestic violence agencies in realizing that the help all is needed to raise awareness to such a sensitive issue.
