For the Love of Susan is the second of a trilogy which begin with For the Love of Money. The first book described what happened in the Dover family when Stan, the seventy year old father, won 145 million in a PowerBall Lottery. The Dover family establishes the Dover Detective Agency at the end of the book.
Susan is the granddaughter of Stan Dover. When Susan returns to her room, after walking the streets of the French Quarter in New Orleans, she finds her boyfriend has been murdered and she is knocked unconscious, placed in the trunk of a car and transported 500 miles north by the kidnappers. The kidnappers hold her in a house in the Ouachita Mountains in west central Arkansas.
When the five million dollar ransom is paid the kidnappers expect to kill Susan. However she has other ideas.
