Risen

It was the summer of fear, as one reporter deemed it in the Compton Daily Register during his daily reports, and some of the other smaller newspapers scattered across town and neighboring areas accepted it a reasonable enough name. However, law enforcement officials shunned the term, not wanting to induce panic. Instead, the Chief of Police stressed during a news conference the importance of community awareness and communication.
Overall, it got the point across, and a majority of folks were going in after dark, locking doors, and bolting windows to protect mainly the children. However, the predator who crept through the streets and alleys and even boldly enough to include the fairgrounds (which was soon closed down by the city council until the matter was resolved) did not seem to be interested in just children.
