The Reefs Of Time

When the anasan starship Avanasan arrives at its destinastion star, they fail to discover the advanced civilization their radio telescopes predicted on the habitable second planet; worse, their home planet is now dead in the radio spectrum, and the Sardu theocatic fascsts aboard stage as coup, threatening the destruction of the ship and with it, possibly, the end of the anasan species.

Things get worse when the Sardu discover and attack members of an intelligrent alien species, who may ho.lsd the key to defeatinng the Sardu. Unfortunately the aliens are fighting a war of their own, World War Two.
