Incident on Scorpion Mesa

Deep in the Arizona Territory, a rifle shot echoes out across the Sonoran Desert, shattering the tranquility of a blistery summer afternoon. High up on the plateau of Scorpion Mesa, a prominent rancher lies dead. His murder is merely the beginning in a sequence of vengeance killings that have the people of Maley, Arizona fearing for their lives.
Sheriff Brad Rogers is baffled by the murders. Are the victims connected in some way, or is this just another an act of brutality, common to the lawless frontier?
Adding to the pandemonium, an over zealous town mayor, up for re-election, pressures the sheriff to solve the murders quickly or suffer the consequences of his failure.
The shooter secretly plots the demise of his next victim while the sheriff and his young deputy examine the evidence, hoping it will lead them to the identity of the mysterious assassin.
