OLD CROW....has many religious overtones. A good wholesome read. 445 pages in print!
A genuine, religious experience. So much of the book is a work of tremendous force and deep insight into the world mood. It is full of divinations about human nature and human relationship that makes one exclaim triumphantly. The novel, in fact, has so many of the qualities of greatness!
A little bio of our author: Alice Brown (1856-1948) was an American novelist, poet and playwright, most famous as a writer of local color stories. She also contributed a chapter to the collaborative novel, The Whole Family (1908). She was born in Hampton Falls, New Hampshire and graduated from Robinson Seminary in Exeter in 1876. She later worked as a schoolteacher, but moved to Boston to write full-time in 1884. She first worked at the Christian Register and then, starting in 1885, she wrote for the Youth's Companion. She was a prolific author for many years.
You can surmise from her bio that this book will be wholesome reading and provide a somewhat religious mood too!
