Forged in personal agony and futuristic science, the Grayhill Spectre, Chicago's very own super hero, has been saving the city from all forms of criminals. Now, at age 28, Joshua Caine, finds that he increasingly needs to let go of his secret identity so he can have a normal life. However, as soon as Joshua makes a firm decision to quit being the Grayhill Spectre, all hell breaks loose and his personal life is turned upside down.
