As alumni of Fresno State, I love to get together with friends and watch our Bulldogs compete. Hosting a pre-game party doesn’t have to be a huge challenge. The recipes in this book are guest tested and perfect for your party. You will find recipes that are easy and safe to transport to a tailgate party, recipes to make ahead, vegetarian recipes, and even recipes designated Dorm Room Delicacies that can be made in your dorm room. Dorm Room Dining is the perfect cookbook for a freshman starting out in the dorms or anyone who wants to cook with a collegiate theme in mind.
At the end of the book, you will find great resources that will help the beginning cook understand cooking abbreviations and terms, make substitutions in recipes, and convert to and from the metric system. In addition is a handy list of cooking basics (foods and tools) that are perfect for the dorm room resident who wants to be able to create simple, delicious snacks and meals with minimum effort.
Each recipe has a Level of Expertise designation. Bachelor’s levels require basic, simple cooking skills. Masters levels are somewhat more difficult, requiring more familiarity with prepping and cooking techniques. PhD levels are the most difficult. Most of the recipes in this book are Bachelors level because we want you to enjoy the cooking, the tailgate, and the game, not slave over difficult recipes!
