JANE EYRE, a novel published in London, England in 1847 is a famous and influential novel written by Charlotte Bronte. It is written as an Autobiography under the pen name “Currer Bell” the supposed “Autobiography’s” editor. The novel includes God and Religion, Jane endeavors to attain an equilibrium between moral duty and earthly happiness. Social class, Jane’s ambiguous social position-a penniless yet moderately educated orphan from a good family. Gender relations, Jane attempts to assert her own identity within a male-dominated society. You will also see Love and Romance, Independence, Atonement and Forgiveness and Search for Home and Family. Some regard this an an early feminist novel. This book is illustrated and contains not only Volume I “Jane Eyre” but Volume II “Novels of the Sisters Bonte”.
