Funeral Games

In the gritty American South, two small brothers are watching as their life crumbles around them. And since they know nothing different, they tell the story they see, in unschooled language that says more than it knows. Since their mother left them, their father has fallen into a drunken depression. Worse yet, their ramshackle house was built on a limestone bed and is falling fast into a sinkhole.

In the face of this despair, the two little boys cling to hope and find humor and resilience. They entertain themselves the best way they know, by giving each other mock funerals, while Mr. Tock and others desperately try to save the family.
