Like many young couples in the church, Aaron and Jillian from America along with Cesar and Mariet from South America, had a heart for evangelism and missions but no understanding of the Muslim culture and religion. In fact, before they moved their families to North Africa they were doubtful whether the Muslims would accept them and whether planting a church would be possible.
Follow them through their first year in North Africa as they experience a new Muslim culture full of unfamiliar religious holidays and customs, overcome the fear in their own hearts, and discover a love and compassion for their new neighbors. For the last five years, these couples have built on the knowledge they gained in that first year of ministry in North Africa to share Christ with Muslims, disciple new believers, and form house churches with national teachers of the Word.
They have put in this book over 100 individual experiences during 2007, their first year working with and living among Muslims. The topics include their anticipation and fear prior to departure, their observances of the Muslim practices, and testimonies of new believers in Christ. Their hope is that you will read this book and see all the possibilities for ministry though ministry for Christ is technically against the laws of men.
Ramblings from North Africa is essential reading for Christian leaders, potential missionaries, and any layperson who wants to grow in love for and understanding of Muslims. Gain a year of practical experience in the Muslim culture in one book!
