At it's heart Ohio Summer is a love story-one that takes on all those modern inconveniences that Romeo and Juliet didn't have to deal with. Things like having children from previous relationships. Having many past exes and having made many past mistakes. Switching religions from Catholicism to Atheism to Buddhism. Switching cultures from America to Thailand. Breaking up a long term relationship and becoming a single mother. Love and sex in the 21st century. Navigating the worlds that open up through social networking sites such as Facebook. Seeing the way the world is changing and people are evolving over time due to the increased interconnectedness of all of us. We are all one family.
Ohio Summer is also a story about redemption. Finding your way back from many past sins. Learning lessons from past mistakes. And somehow coming to find yourself in a land far far away from Ohio. The long awaited Master's Thesis on marriage is finally here.
