Straight From the Breast

After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003 and again in 2007 Ronnetta Eaton desired a way to stay connected with family and friends to give them updates on her progress. Always a lover of writing, she came across a Web site for breast cancer patients, survivors and loved ones that allowed her to share her story in the form of an online journal. She used these journals to share intimate details of her breast cancer experience, to answer questions that some may have been afraid to ask and to gather information from others who may have had similar experiences. This method of sharing provided Ronnetta with a therapeutic outlet as it allowed her to relieve some of the stress she was feeling. Straight From the Breast hails from these journals and her realization of how daunting a breast cancer diagnosis can be to one’s reality as she came to terms with the breast cancer mountain she encountered, along with the ails of juggling numerous appointments, family and work life balance, medical co-pays and tests, insurance issues, prescription costs, parking fees and FEAR.
