While there have been various versions of the tales of Robin Hood throughout the centuries, the popular classic Howard Pyle's version influenced accounts of Robin Hood through the 20th century. This version firmly stamps Robin Hood as a staunch philanthropist, a man who takes from the rich to give to the poor.
