On the sultry east coast of Mexico, charter yacht captain Dan Masters is broke. He owes his loyal crew back pay, and his 74-foot yawl Sea Wife is in need of critical repairs.

To Angel Santacruz, a drug smuggler with the conscience of a tapeworm, Sea Wife represents a golden opportunity to salvage a botched mission. Facing a death threat should he fail, Santacruz and two machine-gun toting henchmen highjack Sea Wife to carry a cargo to the U.S.
The voyage begins—but a wrong-way hurricane stirs an unexpected ingredient into the stew. By the end, Dan has had to slay a ghost from his past in order to defeat Santacruz, has saved his ship from sinking and found new love with Alexa; and a mid-point plot twist has revealed Harold’s true nature to Alexa, freeing her of him forever.
Although the voyage ends happily, a four-word epilogue foretells future disasters for Dan and Alexa.
