In the course of looking into unsolved murders in Story County, Iowa, Ames Tribune reporter Luke Jennett turned up the decades-old slaying of an eighteen-year-old Iowa State University coed and a local couple’s crusade to find her killer. This is the story of the girl’s disappearance, death, and unsolved murder. Sheila Jean Collins, eighteen years old, lived in Iowa State University’s Elm Hall. She was found dead in a ditch in rural Story County on January 28, 1968.
