I REMEMBER POPPA

Poppa, the son of ex-slaves, lived a full, exemplary, and rewarding life through his determination, vision, and concern for equality and fairness. He was a talented art teacher, and an avid proponent of integration and equality for all peoples. Poppa lived a comfortable middle class life for twenty-seven years after he retired. This is his story as remembered by his oldest grand-daughter.
