Black Tide Rising

Late one night in the eleventh century, Lindsey Henessy made a pact with the devil himself, cursing her entire family line. The devil would take the man who she strongly believed killed her daughter, and torture him forever. In exchange, he would take four of the strongest unborn souls in her family through out the years to come, in order to do his bidding.
No one believed the curse was real, it was just a story passed down from each generation. Until one horrible day in the twelfth century, Nicholas Henessy, the town's sword smith was taken from his family by one of the four devil's advocates.
Thirteen years later, his children, Emily and Thomas are now all grown up, both making a name for themselves in this parallel universe. Things start to get weird, it starts with Lord Gaube threatening Emily for her hand in marriage, then leads up to their dead father reappearing to complete a certain task in approximately thirty-six hours.
Black Tide Rising is the first book in it's series, it builds a good plot, and keeps the reader guessing!
