Screenwriter Maurice Browning (nee: Morris Bronofsky) has tried to pitch his latest effort to a producer-friend, but can't get past the secretary. So, Maurie sends the script via FedEx.

Maurie's plot centers on a couple unlikely to meet except under unusual circumstances. Elliot is a college professor on his way to a new position. Stanlee is an African-American woman escaping an oppressive marriage and certain her husband will come after her. Early in the film, Elliot's car, with all his belongings, is stolen. Stanlee offers to get him to the college town…but events necessitate they remain together for an extended period. This is a story of adjustment told with humor and an undertone of suspense.

"Maurie’s Moving Picture" is a hybrid in genre: part novel, part screenplay. Interspersed in the scenes and dialogue are Maurie's compulsive notes on who should direct and star in his new epic. We also learn about Maurie, as he adds his comments on the thoughts and actions of the characters and intimate glimpses into his own life.

If you ever sat through a movie and thought it needed more work, here is your opportunity to “live” Hollywood.
